Good work on this review! I’ve found Dr. Strange to be well… a strange character (ugh I should stop typing now.. haha). That does sound like a good deal having all story and no ads in the special edition. Lately I’ve seen Dr. Strange in some odd roles. During Fear Itself *groan* (not a fan of that event) he assisted with battling evil forces in the sea, and then most recently Osbourne’s ‘New’ Dark Avengers were slapping him around like no one’s business. It seems to be that he’s totally being downplayed. From what tidbits I’ve read I understand his powers have ‘decreased’ or something (anyone have the details on that? – fill me in!) but I’d prefer to see him be a bit more resourceful and not get knocked aside all the time. I hope Marvel puts the magic back into this character because I don’t like seeing him on the sidelines.

Thank you for the compliment, Jon! Yeah, he had the title Sorcerer Supreme taken from him and it was passed to Brother Voodoo. But I’m not sure where it stands now since Dr Voodoo has “died”. Strange had a mini series written by Mark Waid, The first issue had something about a baseball game really being a battle between demons. I didn’t think it was terrible, but it was just a little too “cute” so I didn’t finish the arc. Strange is getting a moment to shine over in the Defenders now, however I guess depending on the reader, it’s possible to interpet Fraction’s version of Strange as slightly skeevy.
