Okay, here’s the deal with the first ‘Nuff Said! Weekly Word Balloon Contest winner… As of 11:59pm CST last Tuesday, Kyle’s Godzilla entry was actually winning with a little over 42% of the vote. So that’s how/why Kyle won.

What got confusing: We left the poll up and then early Wednesday morning (long after the contest/polling was officially closed), Jason tweeted that he needed some votes! Of course, Jason did nothing wrong– as the contest rules and conditions were in teeny tiny little letters… So it was extremely EASY not to note when the contest ended and even easier to just keep voting… Which is what people from all over the world continued to do until we took the poll off the post later Wednesday. It’s also why Tom thought Jason was the official winner.

We have corrected the wording in Contest #2 to hopefully alleviate any confusion… And we promise to be as diligent as possible to close the Poll on the site on time this week.

We sincerely apologize to any and all of last week’s participants for any confusion.

But since it was our screw-up, both Jose and I feel it is only fair two change the results and announce TWO WINNERS!

Kyle wins the Tuesday Prize and Jason wins the Wednesday prize. Luckily we have TWO copies of the American Vampire hardcover to send out to BOTH winners.

Congratulations to BOTH Kyle and Jason!

And, in all seriousness… I would like to be able to say, “It won’t happen again!” but we all know it– or something like it– will. :D

The main reason I liked Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is because I watched the first Ghost Rider TWICE before seeing the new one. The first one was terrible. I could not stand that first movie, but with it fresh in my mind, the second was awesome in comparison. I just looked at it as Johnny Blaze 40 years from now. It was almost like “The Ghost Rider Returns” done as a black comedy.

And for the record, I’m a hardcore Ghost Rider fan.

    • WithoutFear86 says:

And Tom, I LOVE War Zone as well.

      • Nice, us War Zone fans have to stick together, And I probably would have liked the movie more if I looked at it as a black comedy.

        • J. says:

I also loved War Zone. It’s actually one of my favorite Marvel movies. It’s way better than both FF movies as well as Daredevil, Elektra, Spider-Man 3, Iron Man 2, both Hulk movies, and the first Punisher flick.

Yes, I think it is better than Iron Man 2. That movie is overrated.

Information overload!..Was I that long gone?..With all the new articles and a vid..i am clocking in at about 2 hours straight.

I agree Jon. X-Force is crazy. Such a shame they couldnt keep up with the quality and concept of the first story arc. The Dark Angel Saga was enjoyable eventhough I didnt have a clue whats going on..way to overcomplicated..and now with all this fantasy shit..they really went overboard..It looks like they are killing their own title..I cancelled my sub on X-Force.

    • Jon (of aCBL) says:

Hackslash! totally with you on the X-force thing regarding the Dark Angel Saga. It was like, this is a big event, but we’re going to present it to you with clouds of smoke and lots of mirrors around it. I should go back and re-read it, maybe that will help instead of waiting month to month (although some of those issues were coming out pretty quick if I recall correctly lol). I’m giving it the ol’ three strikes your out coming up, I will buy three more issues but if it doesn’t shake this alternate reality nonsense, then I agree – I’m out.

      • NicktheStick says:

Yeah X-force just didn’t do it for me. I waited an read all the issues of Dark Angel Saga, and it just wasn’t paced right and even reading in consecutively there were things that I missed. Just didn’t cut it, had to drop it. I’m now down to only one Marvel book and at least it is an X book: X-Factor.

        • Jon (of aCBL) says:

I know I’ve ragged on X-Factor once in awhile but all in all – I can’t get enough of the book. The story of multiple man can stop any day now lol, in terms of alternate reality etc, however a possible backstory to where his dupes may or may not come from is interesting. I like the team as a whole too. Kind of curious to see how the team ends up now that Havoc and Polaris appear to be hanging out a bit. May have to reread the last issue to capture that moment again.

  4. I read that first arc of X-Force and it was a 5 star book. So I’m glad I read that and stopped there.

  5. TheMSpot says:

With all this talk about Punisher: War Zone makes me wish Lexi Alexander directed Ghost Rider 2.

  6. ed2962 says:

Another nice show. I’m trying to watch during my breaks at work, so forgive me. By the way, I liked Punisher War Zone movie as well.
Hey Jon and Tom have you read Ghost Rider Hammer Lane? I haven’t read it, but I was a bit curious about maybe checking it out. The impression I get online is that some of the Hardcore Ghost Rider fans don’t think much of it?

  7. J.Jimenez says:

Sorry you had to suffer thru another shitty Nic Cage movie. I learned never to watch a movie with him in it a long time ago. I don’t know how he keeps getting work.

    • KqriousGeorge says:

C’mon now he has made two, “gems”??? The Rock & Con Air. I must admit that when my pre-pubescent self craves explosions and unapologetic tough-guy swagger I do throw those on. Of course, Cage did had some help from Sean “The Best Damned Bond Ever” Connery and John “What The Hell Happened To My Career” Cusack.

  8. KqriousGeorge says:

Well I’m not going to waste my time on Ghost Rider 2 until that biatch is on Netflix or Xfinity haha! However, all this talk of comics being turned into movies and movies made into comics has me thinking….does anyone like/remember Big Trouble in Little China with Kurt Russel? It’s a classic John Carpenter B-Movie spoof. Lots of machismo and cheesy martial arts action in THE best way. Kinda faded into a cult classic because it opened up the same weekend as the original Alien. Anyways, lol, I always thought that would make a great comic book. I think they’ve done a couple one-shots and such, but nothing to brag about. Just thought I’d throw that out there! BTW @Jon (of aCBL) thanks for the shout-out on your episode about racism dude :-)
