G.I. Joe: Retaliation Does Character Posters Better Than The Avengers

Around the interents yesterday all of the cool-kid sites got to premier their very own GI Joe: Retaliation character poster… But I have collected them all together here in one place for your easy perusal.

OK. You all remember these abysmal Avengers character posters, right? Well, the GI Joe: Retaliation character posters blow them away both quality and hype-wise– which granted, wasn’t very difficult to do. While all the Avengers poster sucked massive balls, there are only 2 of the Retaliation posters that are borderline meh. Correction–There is ONE Retaliation poster that is meh and ONE poster that is just fucking awful. The borderline meh one would be the Bruce Willis looking a little too much like James Bond. But it IS Bruce Willis, so I can let that one slide. The Retaliation poster that is fucking awful? Well, that’s the Channing Tatum one. I don’t really think I need to explain why.

Truth time: I am looking forward to seeing GI Joe: Retaliation MORE than The Avengers. I am aware that the first GI Joe flick was horrendous and that the only things that made it watchable were Snake Eyes (even though he had those stupid “lips” on his mask) and Scarlett. I am also aware that Scarlett is not in this film but Retaliation DOES have Adrianne Palicki as Lady Jaye, Ray Stevenson as Firefly, a bad-ass looking Cobra Commander and a Snake-Eyes without dumb-ass lips on his mask. All of those things balance out the fact that there is no Rachel Nichols as Scarlett in the GI Joe sequel.

See, it’s not too difficult to please me Hollywood.

GI Joe: Retaliation will be released on June 29th.

    scarlett’s not in this?

  2. megamanx4ever says:

Wow. Cobra Commander actually looks pretty good in this.

  3. Jon (of aCBL) says:

I hope this movie is better than the last one was. lol. Regardless it should be fun, and if it’s not then I’ll be pretty grumpy and delete all the old GI Joe cartoons off my DVR (They record daily pretty much on the HUB channel).

  4. I’m hoping that this makes up for the first one. It was really too bad it was so bad because there were elements of the story I like and to watch how horrible it spiraled into the abyss was hard.

I mean, really, how hard it is to cgi a man’s face transforming into metal these days–almost 20 years after Terminator 2.
