This is so bad-ass. They don’t even need to release the rest of the movie in order to beat most other comic adaptations. I’m really surprised to see them going in such a dark direction.

Shane Black is directing and co-wrote the screenplay (or polished it, whichever you prefer). Being allied so close to Downey, I suspect they could go anywhere they want.
I wonder if I am the only one that just watched that awesomeness and can’t wait for 2013 to get here– so Black can get back to work on his Doc Savage film. Just the mere thought of it fills me wish a sense of awesome.
Not bad at all! There’s some depth to this trailer, which I like. But, man, I REALLY wish we didn’t live in the age where dramatic CGI shit was the norm, and basically defined how “epic” your film was gonna be…
But, this looks neat!
I totally understand your feelings, Mike.
I’m not against CGI myself. I probably feel the way you do (not trying to put words in your mouth)– I just detest “bad” CGI… Effects that look fake and could have been done more authentically (and look more organic) by FX Wizards on a set (instead of a computer room).
That underwater sequence looks awesome. I’m surprised they went there. Even today, that’s really pricey.
I was thinking in the same line…the Iron Man Villa being blown up wouldnt be as dramatic if they used a real house..right?

I’ve probably watched this about 5 times now. Looks good!
It seems like it will depart from the light-hearted tone the first 2 films took, but as long as the dark tone is handled well I won’t have a problem with it. I’m assuming that’s Rhodes in the Iron Patriot armor? I’m down with that. Anyone wearing that armor should be a hero and not a goblin.
Where did you find out it was Rhodes? There were rumours it was the actor Eric Savin
I don’t know for sure. I was only assuming.
Well, that trailer was pretty good, but I for one, was really hoping that this was the new Iron Man trailer.. 8)
