ODDS & ENDS™ RECTANGULAR BANNER

Television: Robert Kirkman has a new comic coming out set in the world of exorcism– and he already has a deal to make it into a television show. I hope whoever the artist is on the comic took a long look at his or her contract before signing it. [Deadline]

Film: Sony/Screen Gems announced the Resident Evil 6 movie will be released on September 12, 2014. I recently watched the last 2 RE films back to back. Unless you completely hate yourself and are completely shit faced while doing so, I highly recommend not doing it. Ever. [ShockTillYouDrop]

Collectibles: Sideshow’s insanely expensive, yet really cool looking, Poison Ivy “premium format figure” will be released in April 2013. Will Ian be able to resist buying it? We will see. [Sideshow]

Ivy Statue

Comics: Tony Daniel is set to pick up art chores on Action Comics starting with issue #19. You have my condolences, Superman fans. [ComicsAlliance]

Film: Carrie Fisher kinda sorta said she will be in the new Star Wars flick but then it came out she was really joking. But then George Lucas said, “We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison—or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation.” Just how involved is Lucas in the new Star Wars? Because I’m now becoming a bit worried. [TheMarySue]

Collectibles: Hot Toys’ Tony Stark (Armor Testing Version) Collectible Figure sure does look like Robert Downey, Jr. all right. You know, I’m wondering if any fanfic writers have graduated to making fanfic stop-motion films with these dolls. Seems like the next logical step. And yes, this is the 2nd sort of sexual reference I’ve made in this column’s short existence about these figures. I think I have a problem… Or do I? [HotToysFacebook]

Manga: Influential manga translator and Studio Proteus founder Toren Smith passed away this week at the age of 52. I was personally saddened reading this news. Anyone who enjoyed reading English translated manga during the 80s and 90s owes a huge thank you to Smith for helping make that happen. [Crunchyroll]

Film: Joss Whedon put the kibosh on those silly rumors about a possible Planet Hulk film by calling them “Nonsense.” You may now commence with the sad face making, nerds. [SuperHeroHype]

Television: There were almost a dozen new pics from Series 7.5 of Doctor Who released and I completely dropped the ball by not posting them earlier in the week. My bad. [Collider]

Doctor Who Series 7.5

Film: Evil Dead reviews are making their way out of SXSW. Seems a lot more good than bad is being said about the film and this makes me somewhat relieved. [io9]

Film: And speaking of the Evil Dead remake, director and co-writer Fede Alvarez announced work on the sequel has already begun. Sounds like they are shooting for a trilogy and I am totally OK with this. I was thinking of throwing the word “Groovy” in here somewhere but then realized how lame that would be. [Deadline]

Video Games: So, like, there’s a Deadpool video game coming out and there’s a new trailer for it too. If you wanna watch it, it’s right here… But if you, like, don’t wanna watch it, whatever. It doesn’t really matter to me either way.

A lot of good info in your post Jose, I don’t know where to begin..

I hope Robert Kirkman isn’t seduced by the darkside, and starts writing movie scripts instead of comics(looking at you Mark Millar,)

My wife loves all the Resident Evil movies , so I can’t say anything bad about them. ;)

Poison Ivy? Evil? yes…Redhead? yes… Probably some horrible STD? yes.. Totally worth it? of course! ;)

Who wouldn’t want to bend a Tony Stark action figure into a weird sexual position with a Barbie doll, you paid for it right?

    Awesome post as usual Jose!
