  2. kurumais says:

hey game of throne fans want to read some crazy? it was a good laugh

    i love the comments

    • I think I saw this one before last season, or something like it. I think this is meant to be a joke on christian conservative websites, right?

      Still funny as hell!

  3. Fables came out with a new edition for their softover tpb’s this week and all copies have extreme binding problems…and they still expect retailers to sell them..but these books dont even look worth 1 dollar…crying shame! If only DC could be half as good as Dark Horse when it comes to book bindings and presentations. Dark Horse ftw!

    • Locusmortis says:

DC’s hardcovers have issues with binding as well, you’d expect DC to be better at that sort of thing.

I was out at the local postal sorting office trying to track down my monthly parcel of comics from the states. It looks as if it has gone missing somewhere between a Chicago USPS sorting facility and the west coast of Ireland so if anyone in a USPS uniform offers you a cheap Teen Titans 2 omnibus or Jim Aparo Batman hardcover, its probably mine!

      • Locusmortis says:

Its at this stage I must give props to DCBS, within a couple of hours of me contacting them they had contacted the usps and found that the package had gone to Israel instead of Ireland, I guess I should be glad they didn’t send it to Iraq!

The israelis are sending it back to the USA and it will then hopefully make it onto the correct airplane to me. By the time I receive these comics I reckon they will have travelled about 22000 miles!

    • Insideman says:

That sux. I withdraw my recommendation for the Fables softcover. At least, this edition.

  4. megamanx4ever says:

Just started watching Tiger & Bunny a really awesome super hero anime. I Also think Marvel should WATCH this series so they can remember what made super heroes good. Really think you will like this one Jose. Sorry I could only find the mirrored opening.

    • This is a fun show. I think both the Big two could learn from it. I’m only a few episodes in (usually watch one or two while I have breakfast) but it’s better superhero entrainment than I have been getting from comics lately.

  5. J. says:

It’s nice when the first thing you read on the internet after waking up puts a smile on your face.

    • Way cooler then Will Smith

    • dimaman15 says:

How is the guy facing charges? Shouldn’t he get an award or the key to the city or something along those lines?

      • Insideman says:

It almost makes me want to pull out one of my own teeth, dip it in gold and send it to the guy so he can wear it as a pendant around his neck. (Note I wrote “almost”.)

I also had almost the exact same experience when Titanic was originally released. Stood in a line that wrapped all the way down Hollywood Boulevard from the Chinese Theater and then up to the adjacent neighborhood.

Keep in mind, this was three weeks after the film premiered in cinemas across the country,

Got inside and some fat-ass behind the scenes film worker (I am guessing a Gaffer) started describing every scene in the film in technical terms (he had obviously already seen it) to impress his woman companion.

I politely asked him to stop it, as I didn’t pay to listen to him describe the entire film. He promptly screamed at me to “FUCK OFF!” I then responded, in my own immature way, “Fuck me? Fuck YOU, Fat-Ass!” Following it with, “You are SO outta here!”

I then stormed into the Lobby screaming for the theater manager. I told him what happened. He walked down with me, I pointed the son of a bitch out. The manager told him he could stand in the back and describe the film to his companion. The guy then let loose with a series of profanity laden statements– proving my point.

The manager then said, “You can quietly leave or I can get some ushers in here to drag you out.” The guy screamed one last “Fuck Youuuuuu!” as he was pushed out of the theater. His friend followed him.

Five minutes later, the ship hit the iceberg… And I started laughing uncontrollably.

  6. kurumais says:

i am afraid to go any superhero especially avenger sites on tumblr. does that make me homophobic?

  7. While I’m not sure Robocop needs to be remade, especially if Peter Weller isn’t in there somewhere, with Gary Oldman in it, I may have to keep my eyes open for it:

    • Doh! >_< Better not Pre-order Fall of Cybertron, I guess.

    • Insideman says:

I guarantee Xbox 360s fly off the shelf for the next several weeks. The chance of this console being removed from sale are less than zero.

And W.D. – pre-order from Amazon. No delivery, no charge.

And before anybody starting yelling, “There goes Ian on an Xbox rant again!” I own THREE PS3’s now. 1 Xbox.

      Suck it, haterz! 😀

  8. kurumais says:

IRON MAN IS GETTING MARRIED TO A MAN! comic book conversations with my mother
i am speaking to my mother today and she tells me about the upcoming gay nuptials she read about in the paper. she said “iron man is down on one knee proposing to a man.” so of course i correct her no mom its northstar its not really a big deal northstar has been gay forever.” ” no that not him.” she relies ” i dont know him, i recognized this guy.” so i get the paper show her the story about northstar getting married and she declares triumphantly “see xman i told you knew him x man is getting married!” you’re right ma x-man is getting married

    • J. says:

Isn’t X-Man Britta’s favorite comic character on Community?

    • Insideman says:

      I can relate, Kuru.

My Mom owns tons of Apple stock… So the other day, while she is working on a jigsaw puzzle, I pull out my iPad and crank up Iron Man 2 on Netflix… Show her the opening sequence (including the title sequence that says IRON MAN 2 in big gold letters), then get to the part where (spoilers!) Iron Man flies into the Stark Expo, Tony de-suits and the gorgeous women start dancing with their tight light up tops and shiny boy shorts/hot pants…

And she exclaims, “What in the world am I watching?!?”

Deadpan, I reply, “Porn, Mom. You’re watching porn.”

  9. kurumais says:

im watching the spirit for the first time. what am i watching? im laughing a lot is it a comedy? who exactly was the audience for this? . well there are a lot of good looking gals…

    • J. says:

Hey, Kuru. The last episode of Awake is loose on the interwebs.

      • kurumais says:

i just saw that i looked on nbc website nothing
oh well ill just have to watch

      • kurumais says:

i just finished watching i have no clue what to think. for about 50 minutes it was an intense captivating show but that end though

        • J. says:

Agreed. I am assuming that it was an ending that was to work either way. As a cliffhanger, it would be interesting to see what comes next. As an actual ending, it just doesn’t work. Way to many questions unanswered which makes for an unfulfilling experience.

          • kurumais says:

this show was so high concept i can’t imagine you don’t think up an ending 5 minutes after you come up with the actual premise. i know the network pulled the rug out from under the show but the creator and writers had to have something more interesting then that. is there a 14th episode? 13 episodes is more then plenty to tell your whole story.
in a show like this the big reveal is the most important part and it seemed like they had nothing.

          • dimaman15 says:

I read an interview on io9 a long while back where Wilmer Valderrama said they just finished filming the last episode and that it would blow people away. Hopefully the ending that aired was one they shot after they were told they were cancelled just so they could have a happy ending. I hope that when the dvds come out they include both and then we can see how they really wanted to end the season.

            • dimaman15 says:

disregard my last comment. Apparently the finale was shot exactly how they had planned since before the pilot was even shot. So I guess I’m sticking with the whole “he’s gotten so crazy and out of touch with reality that he’s created a third dream where the three are together” theory.

              • kurumais says:

i dont care what the actual explination is the ending was about as anti climatic as possible i felt like i wasted my time watching the series

  10. M. Fewko says:

I hope the new Hitman game has more Swan Lee in its OST.

  11. Tiger Topher says:

So this is what’s happening in my neighborhood tonight:

  12. J. says:

I want to add the comic ‘Tall Slut, No Panties’ to my club pull. It looks pretty cool.

    • M. Fewko says:

Haven’t heard of it. Interesting title to say the least! I’m looking around like crazy for good comics to read…

Man, I don’t even read comics anymore. I don’t want to hang up on them just yet, but really, there’s nothing worth driving up for. I like Fatale, but I feel like I could easily enjoy it more as a trade. Same with Animal man, or Batwoman, or Manhattan Projects, or any of them. They’re just decent and all worth maybe 2 dollars at a nearby liquor store, but NONE are worth 3-4 dollars at a 5 mile drive downtown… at least for me.

      • I’m starting to feel the same way. I’l probably always get Superman, Batman, Action, Detective, and Supergirl in singles, because those are what my dad likes and he does do trades, but a lot of the others just don’t create the urgency for me to go pick up every week. It’s not they are bad, but it’s a lot like TV. There are those shows that just do better once on dvd and you can just sit down and watch straight through, but when you have to wait a week, the tension just isn’t there anymore.

    • I want to know if “Strong Bowling Girl Talks a Lot” is just a one-shot and she is going to be in “Tall Slut, No Panties” from now on, or if it’s a new ongoing series. But Patrick Kelly is not getting the justice he deserves here in the States.

  13. kurumais says:

there is a dr who mini episode on youtube for those who are interested

  14. Tiger Topher says:

Montreal’s students and their supporters are out in the streets again (for a 31st night in a row) and you can follow them live by going to If you watch for long enough, you should eventually see cops arresting and assaulting peaceful protesters. The people who got stopped by the police last night ended up with tickets that are going to cost them over $600.

  15. NicktheStick says:

Some reaction on DC and Marvel’s gay characters… a little overreaction in my opinion.

    • J. says:

Ok. This has never happened before on any site I have been apart of but I did remove the link you posted Nick. One Million Moms is nothing but a hate group. I do not feel comfortable with any links on this site which directly link to their website.

If you have a link to a news site which has a story about their bullshit, that’s fine. But I will not have links going straight to their site. I apologize for this but I will not help them spread their ignorant hatred. I hope you understand.

Here is a link to a story describing what Nick was posting about.

      • megamanx4ever says:

I remember these nutjobs were also bitching about Star Wars The Old Republic for having the option (in a future patch for the game) to have same sex relationships which I think is a first for Star Wars but I could be wrong. A bunch of hateful homophobic bitches if you ask me.

      • NicktheStick says:

Totally understand. I have never heard of this group before this and just saw some tweets about it and that was the first link I found.

    • kurumais says:

i have no idea why anyone pays attention to these folks they have no real influence i thought they would go away after jc penny sided with ellen.

  16. kurumais says:

its got to be mind blowing for joe simon to see captain america on the big screen in this huge monster hit of a movie. to think what he started way back when and see it catch on fire again to whole new generation a whole new audience

  17. J. says:

The new Kids on the Slope episode was simply amazing.

  18. M. Fewko says:

Next installment of Fatale is in the 70’s, and in Hollywood. I might check this out…

    • I think I’ll wait to see if it differes from the 40’s story any. It wasn’t bad, but I never really felt like I wanted to finish each issue.

    • ed2962 says:

I’m looking forward to it as well. I’m wondering how/if he’ll play up the more cynical times. The age of Taxi Driver as opposed to the age of Maltese Falcon.

  19. kurumais says:

does anyone know how many marvel movies colbie smolders is signed up for? is maria hill going to pop up in the solo movies?

  20. kurumais says:

wtf is russell crowe in this movie?

    • ed2962 says:

Talk about retro 80’s! I remember the Gil Kane art! It’s interesting that they leave out the part where Ray initially goes on the trip cuz his wife is leaving him.

  21. kurumais says:

i enjoy young justice more than any dc comic out now and i liked avengers more than any marvel comic currently
is that a good thing or a bad thing?

  22. kurumais says:

jim cummings the guy that voices winnie the pooh calls kids in cancer hospitals and talks to them as winnie the pooh! how %$#ing awesome is that!?!!?

  23. Insideman says:

So J.’s 80GB PS3, faithfully used every day (for several hours each day) for the last 4+ years– went kablooie (with the blinking red lights) during an update on Friday.

RIP, J.’s PS3. You were a good friend and a faithful workhorse and will be remembered.

Now if J. could just get his GAME SAVES off the damn hard drive. Any thoughts?

And for those wondering what will happen next: His new 320GB PS3 Slim arrives Tuesday– abating J.’s severe PS3 withdrawal symptoms. It may not have the same Geek Cred as an original PS3 but it will be bright and shiny and have almost 4 times the HD space.

All’s well that ends well… Especially if the GAME SAVES can be retrieved. 😀

    • Locusmortis says:

I haven’t cracked open a ps3 but I’d imagine if the hard-disk drive was taken out and put in an external HDD enclosure and then connected to another PS3 via usb cable that it could be read.

    • J. says:

Nothing will work. I’ve already looked into every possible solution. The only way to get the information off of the HD is to have it running on the PS3 it came in. But since it will no longer turn on anymore. that is the problem. The HD that comes in a PS3 is encoded to only work in that PS3. If I put it into a new PS3 it would automatically reformat the drive, erasing everything on it, before it would work.

There is no way for a PC to read the info either so I can’t transfer it to PC and then to a new PS3. It sucks but shit happens.

Losing that 150 hour save on Fallout 3, 100 hour Final Fantasy XIII save, 80 hour save on Bayonetta, 2 seasons+ on FIFA, not to mention ALL of my Mass Effect 2 and 3 saves stings a little bit though.

      • Sony never made a transfer kit? That sucks. I’m sorry, Jose. If I could help out in any way, I would.

        • J. says:

I never thought about the fact that Sony hasn’t made a transfer kit. That kinda bugs me now.

How does it work when a 360 red-rings? Is the user able to get their saves off of the dead system?

I think if you sign up for PSN Plus you get access to Sony’s Cloud save system in case something like this ever happens. That’s looking like a good deal right about now.

          • It’s really just a special cord due to the odd shape of the HD case, at least for the old ones. When I bought my slim, I just had to connect the old drive to it’s special end and then plug in the usb to the new xbox. Then I could just transfer everything through the normal memory options like it was a giant memory card. Not sure if that was updated when the Slims came out, but I know I have seen transfer kits since they came out. Plus Xbox has cloud save as well. I can’t remember if that is free or if it is a Live Gold perk.

  24. Tiger Topher says:

So a cover gets released that celebrates Marvel’s most important marriages and there’s no sign of Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson on it. Are we supposed to just pretend that the Spider-marriage didn’t happen? Fuck you, Marvel.

    • J. says:

Wow. And yet another kick to the groin to Spidey fans.

      Make mine anything but Marvel.

    • That is pretty low, especially when it seems they can’t be consistent with continuity in their comics, why not have a little discontinuity on the covers as well.

    • kurumais says:

thats …. i don’t know what you call it but it deserves name calling

    • ed2962 says:

Joe Q hates Spiderman 1985-2000 and has no respect for fans of the material. So yeah…he DOES expect us to just pretend it didn’t happen. And I STILL say there’s nothing in OMD/OMIT that would logically result in Harry being alive again. But whatever…

One a more whimsical note: In the Avengers picture, as Vision and Wanda are getting married, so are Mantis and the Swordsman. However, in the actual comic, it’s not actually the the Swordsman. it’s his reanimated corpse that’s inhabited by the spirit of an intelligent tree person from outer space. Yes, in the 70’s this was completely normal.

  25. kurumais says:

has anyone played journey the ps3 game? just wondering is good?

    • I’m currently playing Max Payne 3. It’s awesome! Journey is getting a lot of mention lately so I’ll keep an eye out.

    • J. says:

I’ve have it and it is amazing. It’s a short game but well worth the price. If you’ve played Flower you will know what to expect.

      • kurumais says:

when you say short what are talking about? 20 minutes?

        • J. says:

No. More like a couple of hours. But if you want to get all the trophies then it will take multiple playthroughs. I’ve already played through quite a few times just because it is a great game.

When you beat the game though it is one of those moments that will stick with you for a while.

          • kurumais says:

            thanks j

          • kurumais says:

J have you played limbo? that game looks gorgeous and creepy at the same time. and i was just watching flower gameplay footage and i caught myself smiling and im not even sure why. i think these kind of indie games are the future of gaming more then the blockbuster franchises. i need to finally sign up for ps network and buy them

            • J. says:

I haven’t played Limbo yet but I plan to at some point. It looks very cool.

Flower is a difficult game to describe to someone because so much of playing the game has to do with how it makes you feel. I would say that it is a truly unique experience but Journey taps into that sort of emotion as well.

Flower went on sale on PSN last week for like $6.49. I think today may be the last day of the sale. It usually costs $9.99.

            • I wasn’t a fan of Limbo. It was purely a control issue. I couldn’t stand them and the physics of the game. I got tired real fast since it was more annoying than challenging. And I will admit that it’s weird because Super Meat Boy as a similar thing going on, but I do find that game challenging and I still go back and try to get past that level I’m still stuck on.

              • M. Fewko says:

I thought it was quite an eerie experience. I’m happy with what Limbo offers. I can’t play it often though, and I have a similiar feeling towards flower…

  26. dimaman15 says:

just reminding anyone interested but the Batman: Arkham City – Harley Quinn’s Revenge dlc comes out on Tues. What really has me wanting to get it is that its not riddler challenge maps or new costumes but apparently 5 hours of new campaign gameplay.

    • 5 hours, huh. Hmmm…I think i will still wait a few months for it to be half off for Xbox Gold members. If I thought there would be more more caimpaign DLC coming out after, I might have gotten it release day. But since it is doubtful, there is no real drive to pick it up since I haven’t played the game in months.

      • dimaman15 says:

so I just downloaded the dlc and unfortunately it is not 5 hours as I was told. It is in fact only around 2 hours long and if you’re still familiar with the controls and do not need brushing up on them, I can picture the dlc being even shorter. It is still fun to play but offers nothing new story wise.

        • J. says:

I’ve been reading some mixed reviews about it. If there is nothing new story wise I may wait till it goes on sale later in the year.

Thanks for giving letting us know how it was Dimaman.

        • Definitely waiting for it to go on sale, then. I’m not surprised. Arkham City had a good story, but It was rushed and there could have been more done with it, even the Catwoman DLC was mediocre except for that alternate “selfish” ending.

  27. kurumais says:

game of thrones blackwater was a most excellent episode i knew whawt happened in the books but the show still had me on the edge of my seat

  28. M. Fewko says:

I got around to reading Manhattan projects #3. It was great. Nice to see Hickman pull through, even though the first two issues felt hazy. He’s doing what PKD did with his novels, cramming each issue with a plethora of ideas.

    • J. says:

I dropped it after the second issue. If a 4 issue series doesn’t get good till the 3rd issue, that’s pretty shitty. He already got $7 out of me so fuck him. From now on if a series doesn’t impress me with it’s first issue I’m done with it.

      • My sentiments exactly, plus the way I look at TV shows too. I love when the fall comes around, in a masochistic sense.

      • M. Fewko says:

I thoroughly enjoyed the first two issues, and feel they contained glorious coloring, and adhered to many noteworthy ideas. I guess its just a matter of taste.

      • tomstewdevine says:

It is on-going if sales keep up, I think he is cramming a lot of ideas in, but we already know Hickman can do that, so I would like to see him have something more this time. I’m liking the series enough to keep going though.

        • J. says:

Oh…my bad. I was under the impression that all of Hickman’s current Image output were minis. But that doesn’t really change my mind. Even if I knew it was an ongoing I would have dropped on the account of who knows WHEN it would have gotten good if ever…like Saga.

          • tomstewdevine says:

I guess I’m still just naive enough to have hope. 😉
And apparently all the current books Hickman has at Image are on-going.

            • J. says:

Working in the industry on the retailer-side as long as I have has pretty much ruined comics for me. All of the cocks and cunts I have worked for in the past saw to it that I would learn to hate almost everything about comics…and they have all but succeeded.

I wish I could still be naive about such things. I really do.

              • I feel you Jose, I don’t have the past with comics you have, but totally see why you have been moving away from comics in general.

Mike, I’m not “hoping it gets better”, I like it too, but I have seen this kind of thing from Hickman with SHIELD, and would like to see what else he is going to do, besides play with histories brightest.

And Saga is very, very good.

                • Insideman says:

I’m doing whatever I can to extinguish what little fun J. has left in him, inch by column inch. This morning, I had to dangle a St Paulie Girl and a Teriyaki Slim Jim processed sausage snack in front of him just to get him to hit the “publish” button on his “Who’s Getting What?” post!

                  • Locusmortis says:

Its ironic that Jose should be more pessimistic about comics than me lol, I read a Valerian and Laureline volume from Cinebook yesterday and it made me realise I still love comics, despite all the shit that goes on.

                • M. Fewko says:

For some reason I can’t get into Saga. Alana is overwhelmingly cruel, Marko is horribly bland, and the jokes are just too sitcomie.

I may revisit the series years from now when its in trade format, but with the first two issues, I just can’t really enjoy what I’m reading. I still wish the best for Alana, Marko, and Hazel, but I don’t have the money to invest in this saga, unless it gets really interesting…What do you guys think of Saga?

            • M. Fewko says:

I’m really not “hoping” it gets good since I’ve thought it was good from the beginning. This comic is more interesting if you enjoy history and the alternatives, because what issue 3 displayed is the same events occurred in WW2 in the series only thru different means. I’m sorry but NO fucking comic from DC or MARVEL is that creative at the moment. This is a great piece of work by Hickman.

Secret, in my opinion, was shit. Saga was just a bunch of rehashed jokes from CBS with a really bitchy lead female character who no matter how hard I tried to like, just couldn’t.

  29. M. Fewko says:

Harrison Ford is pretty old now. How old would Deckard be if he starred in the Blade Runner sequel? Ridley flirted with the idea of Deckard being an android himself, but then if his character is too old in the new film, it’d go against the 4 year fail-safe. I wonder…

    • J. says:

Ridley just mentioned that he would want to work Ford into the sequel in someway. Probably just a cameo. If Scott goes with the idea that Deckard was a replicant, Ford can possibly play the person who the replicant was originally based on. In the original script for Blade Runner, Tyrell was a replicant based on the original.

Deckard could also be a “special” replicant like Rachel who had no 4 year life span built in. It could go any number of ways.

      • Insideman says:

I hope whatever capacity it is in– it’s quick.

Torture yourself by watching Cowboys & Aliens and you’ll see why I say that.

And I personally really like the guy, a lot.

  30. kurumais says:

peter dinklage is everything i wanted tyrion to be and more

    • Insideman says:

Oh, that’s so last season, Kuru. 🙂

Truthfully, he’s the only thing I truly, truly enjoy in GoT. I mean, I like the other stuff but I get depressed when Peter’s not onscreen. I actually like his scenes better than the bare-assed women… Which is saying a lot– at least for me. 😉

(NO real spoilers here!) Looking at next Sunday’s finale teaser, I think Tyrion’s going to screwed over on the massive credit he is due. I think Geoffrey (sp?) is about to get something very unpleasant shoved up his “royal” ass by “The Imp”.

My girlfriend was worried they were going to kill Tyrion off too. God, I hope not.

Fucking hell. Look at this shit list. Ringo and Zeck are the #13 and 14 spots for Spidey artists!? Martin beats Buscema!? And don’t even get me started on the writers list. If Slott is in the Top 3 I think I will have a complete mental breakdown.

    • Locusmortis says:

I’ll be Captain Obvious here to mention that of the 6 artist spots left, McFarlane, John Romita, JR jr, Ross Andru and Steve Ditko are certainties. Quesada better fucking not be in there though…

Also if McFarlane beats Ditko I may have to start building a nuclear weapon…

Of the writers, Stan Lee, Gerry Conway and David Michilinie are locks, I guess JMS will be in there too.

One of the sad things about most polls is that most people have a tendancy to put newer stuff in as thats the only stuff they know and they have no interest in exploring stuff from earlier times, that goes for comics, books, films, tv, you name it.

    • Tiger Topher says:

There’s so much wrong with those lists that I don’t even know where to start.

    • kurumais says:

i think it matters where you come in spidey. did you start with marvel team in the 70s or spider man blue in 2002? i think guys rest on the shoulders of those that come before. so its easy to dismiss some creators because the new guys are giving you what the old guys gave you but with embellishment .
