Odds and Ends

Film: James McAvoy is supposedly eying the Eric Draven part in the completely unnecessary remake of The Crow. It’s probably his attempt to shake the stigma of mostly being known for starring in comic book movies. Oh, wait… [Collider]

Streaming: Sony’s PlayStation 4 will be able to stream 4K resolution movies and it will only use up 100 GB of bandwidth. Ya, I don’t know how that will go down with cable companies who offer broadband internet. [Gizmondo]

Film: Will Guillermo del Toro’s Justice League Dark film make it into theaters before the Justice League film? I hope so, because that would be fucking hilarious. [TotalFilm]

Television: David Brent is back. Nothing more needs to be said. [Deadline]

Video Games: Hideo Kojima is taunting me by saying he would like to create a Metal Gear Solid spin-off starring The Boss. If it gets made, this will most likely be the only video game I will ever need. [CrunchyRoll]

Manga: Seinen manga artist Mari Yamazaki’s next project will be a Steve Jobs biography manga. I have a feeling it will be at least a million times better than Bluewater’s Steve Jobs: Co-Founder of Apple comic. [AnimeNewsNetwork]

Anime: Anime Companies Aniplex, Sunrise, Toei Animation, TMS Entertainment, Nihon Ad Systems, Dentsu and Asatsu-DK are going to collaborate to release a Japanese Animation Official Distribution Website for overseas fans called Daisuki. Why did this take so long to happen? [JPopAsia]

Film: Halle Berry is 90% sure that she will be reprising her role as the master joke teller Storm in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past movie. [/Film]

Collectibles: Sideshow is releasing a Classic Ultron of Throne polystone statue this July for the paltry sum of $350. At this price, you may as well buy 10 and give them out as Secret Santa gifts at your next office X-Mas party. [SideshowCollectibles]

Television: Laura Ramsey, star of man-eating flora film The Ruins, has signed on to play the lead in NBC’s The Sixth Gun pilot. [Deadline]

Film: Chris Cooper will be playing Norman Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Add Elektro and Rhino and that makes 3 villains for the film so far. I’m sure this trifecta will work out as well as it did for Clooney’s Batman and Robin. [io9]

Video Games: Another year , another Assassin’s Creed. You’ll be able to buy Assassin’s Creed 4 on October 29th. I haven’t even played AC3 yet… [Joystiq]

Film: Sam Raimi is fucking with all of us by saying he and his brother will be working on the script for Evil Dead 4 this summer. Never…gonna…happen. [ShockTillYouDrop]

Television: AMC’s The Walking Dead has a new showrunner. It’s going to be difficult to actually be worse than Glen Mazzara. [EW]

Video Games: Willem Dafoe will be joining Ellen Page in the PlayStation 3 exclusive BEYOND: Two Souls. I’m pretty excited about this.

Am I a bad person for wanting to see a Justice League Dark movie more than a vanilla Justice League movie? and would Keanu Reeves reprise his role as John Constantine, yikes! maybe I don’t want to see a JL:Dark movie after all 😉

great post Jose as always Jose!

Speaking of Evil Dead, a buddy of mine posted this today and I’ve never seen this before. I can see why they didn’t go with this ending, but it certainly opens up some sequel possibilities;)

Ya, that was the original ending and it makes sense for the series. I like it more than what they went with. I can’t remember why Raimi changed it. I’ll need to watch the dvd with his commentary again.

here a weird odd and end bowen had a faux bronze nick fury and and faux bronze falcon the as a website exclusive. a little bit later they were both listed as sold out for weeks. now they have a message saying they didnt get enough orders to go on and make the statues. how do you sell out but not have enough orders weird?

    • IronMuskrat says:

Most likely just try to gage interest and when they found out the sales were not there, they back out. Kind of a cheep thing to do, but I’ve seen it before.
