SUSHI CATS!
As a cat worshipper, this thread has won me over~
Did any of you guys read Starlight #1 (Mark Millar’s new comic)? I read it today and call me crazy, but I didn’t think it was that bad. Part of me thinks it’s because I’m comparing it to his other comics, like Kick-Ass 2 and 3, Hit-Girl, etc. (which I should just say are some of the worst comics I’ve had the displeasure of reading).
But I did actually find redeeming qualities in it though. I’ve complained that Millar makes his comics boring by telling readers what’s happening, instead of showing it, but in Starlight he actually spends time showing us what’s happening and it’s effective for the most part. The story is kind of intriguing too. It was by no means a perfect comic. It didn’t take me very long to read and there wasn’t a whole lot of story, but it was refreshing to see that Mark Millar isn’t totally stuck in the land of gratuitous violence/boring storytelling. Let me know what you guys thought of it! I’m curious to see if it’s just me or not.
Give it time. If it follows most Millar offerings, he’ll make it disgusting/unreadable soon enough.
Too bad he didn’t take his own advice:

I’m ready for Sony to reboot the series again. Webb’s take on Spidey isn’t for me. And don’t get me started on Andrew Garfield’s portrayal of Peter Parker.
Just looking at Marvels solicit for the first Miracleman hardcover and I fucking love the fact that they can’t put Alan Moore’s name anywhere on it haha.
I want to thank TMZ for putting Ireland on the map, before this clip we were completely unaware of american pop culture http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dklPL1biT14
