Long-time readers know the trailers we run are simply for viewing. We make no claims that what you’re watching is great or crap– unless, of course, we write some commentary below them.
What you see above is very smart– for all involved. Kevin Spacey exposes his strong persona and mad acting skills to an all new age group, even subliminally promoting his wildly successful House of Cards in the process… While also being paid handsomely for his time.
Meanwhile, Activision buys “legitimacy” for its Call of Duty franchise by having a two-time Oscar winner as its centerpiece. Like I said, win-win.
Now comes the question… Will Spacey’s participation up the level of discussion amongst most of the rancid, mouth-breathing multi-players who populate the Xbox Live experience?
Oh, Hell No. You could land a DOZEN Academy Award winners for this game, and you would still be surrounded by a squad of idiots on-line. Nice move Activision/Spacey. You almost had me believing– at least for a second or two.
It’s kinda funny how in tune this is with Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I was half expecting a “Hail Hydra” to get thrown in at the end.
