I have to say that the Suicide Squad casting intrigues me a lot. If you had pressed me for short list of actors that I believe could pull off Joker at this point, Leto probably would have made the list. I don’t know what it says about the movies overall chances that it’s using it’s biggest villain over but I think it’s a gutsy move given what Marvel with throwing out.

The only headscratcher is Will Smith. I don’t have a problem with him playing Deadshot but he’s no where near the top of actors I could have seen them go for to play him. He’s been looking for more serious roles as of late and I feel like Deadshot will have to be played for a bit of comedic value given his character. It also surprises me how quickly Suicide Squad is getting made. DC is just starting to put its act together with Batman and Superman and next up is what would have to be second tier team book? I know people will compare them to Guardians but they have had success with Abnett and Lanning before the movie. I hope DC doesn’t mess it up and I’ll be waiting to see a trailer.
